"Think Positive" is the theme for World Arthritis Day 2008.

This theme acknowledges that the challenges associated with arthritis/rheumatism can also get you down emotionally, but that there are a number of positive things you can do to help you feel better in yourself and get more from your life.

Our campaign for this year focuses on improving access to psychological support and self-management courses to help enable people with arthritis/rheumatism to contribute fully to society and lead independent and fulfilled lives.

The organizers are gathering significant statistics to support their campaign through their Think Positive survey. Can you or someone you know, help? The survey includes a section for people with arthritis/rheumatism and those who care for them and a section for health professionals.

The survey is available in

  • Arabic
  • Croatian
  • Czech
  • Dutch
  • English
  • French
  • German
  • Greek
  • Italian
  • Polish
  • Portuguese
  • Spanish

They need a minimum of 100 people in each country to participate to get significant statistics, so spread the word! Results will be available around the 12th of October, World Arthritis Day.

World Arthritis Day is supported by EULAR, the European League Against Rheumatism. You can read about the activities planned in Europe for World Arthritis Day on October 12th at http://www.worldarthritisday.org/europe.php.
